Event Space Rental
The Museum of Sex offers a unique opportunity for planners to lease its lobby and galleries for corporate events or private parties. Your guests can enjoy the current exhibitions, adding extraordinary entertainment value to any special gathering. Location
Centrally located on Fifth Avenue at 27th street, the museum is just north of the Flatiron building and south of the Empire State Building. The beautifully renovated Madison Square Park is one block away. The 6, N and R stations are at 28th Street and Park Ave and 28th Street and Broadway. It is close to both Grand Central Station and Penn Station.
Leasing our space
The museum consists of three galleries as well as a front lobby and retail store space for events. The total capacity for the museum is 540 people. The full museum experience is part of the rental fee which allows your guests to view the exhibitions in their entirety. The quoted fee also includes the use of our staffed coat check, spacious bathroom facilities, the use of our on-site sound system, and security. Rental fees vary depending on the length of the event as well as the level of detail needed for preparation. Planners may choose either a flat fee or a “per person” fee which will be determined based on the details of the event.
We are happy to provide a list of caterers familiar with our space and set-up.
Hours of operation
We are able to hold events at the Museum of Sex every night of the week. It is also possible for us to close the museum early if necessary.
Sunday through Friday: 11:00am – 6.30pm
Saturday: 11:00am – 8:00pm
Visitor policies
Although the museum is open to all visitors, the exhibitions are suggested for mature audiences only.
Photography is permitted in all galleries.
There is no smoking in the museum.
